Osaka / Umeda transfer guide 大阪・梅田

Transfers at JR Osaka Station and Umeda for visitors: JR to the Hankyu Line (Kyoto, Kobe), the Midosuji subway line and the Hanshin Line, with the Japanese signs to follow.

Osaka and Umeda are one area

JR calls its station Osaka. Hankyu, Hanshin and the subway call theirs Umeda (or Osaka-Umeda). They are separate stations joined by passages.

Start from the Midosuji Exit

JR Osaka's Midosuji Exit (御堂筋口) is the closest gate to Hankyu, the subway and Hanshin.

Allow extra time

The Umeda passages are long and busy. Allow about 10 minutes between companies, more with luggage.
